In an effort to increase communication and promote Ypsilanti businesses and activities with all residents, regardless of which neighborhood association they live in, the YpsiCityList email listserv was created.  If you are interested in belonging to this listserv, please put the following path in your browser:

Allowed

1. City Notices, includes but is not limited to:
  • DPW trash, snow notices
  • YPD crime notices
  • City clerk notices - City council, planning, zoning, recreation commission, etc
  • Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office wanted posters
  • Street closings

2. Fundraisers, includes but is not limited to:

  • 501c3s, Meals on Wheels, SOS, Jaycees
  • City events - Crossroads, Heritage Festival, P.R.I.D.E. Day

3. Public meetings, includes but is not limited to:

  • Any meeting/lecture/discussion open to the general public - Examples include Talk of the
  • Neighborhood

4. Public events, includes but is not limited to:

  • Events held in the city parks open to the general public - Elvis Fest, Heritage Fest, car shows
  • Events held around town open to the general public - Crossroads, Halloween Festival, Starlight
  • shopping spree
  • Theatre plays
  • Art gallery openings/showings
  • Orchestra or choir concerts
  • Farmer’s Market notices
  • Bike Ypsi
  • Border to Border Trail updates

5. State notices:

  • Items on behalf of www.michigan.gov that could have an impact on the city or Washtenaw County.

6. Lost/Found:

  • Pets
  • Items
  • This section will not be turned into a classified section. Postings regarding items wanted or items for sale or donation will not be approved by the moderators. Also, updates regarding the outcome of lost/found items will not be approved.

Not Allowed

  1. Job listings
  2. House/apartment listings
  3. Opinions
  4. Recruitment to City Council meetings over a specific topic.
  5. Notices for meetings/lectures/discussions not open to the general public.
  6. Solicitations, especially including personal donation pages.
  7. Single/multiple business promotions. Exceptions include overall DAY/Depot Town promotions such as the Starlight Shopping Spree.
  8. Personal fundraising/events for the purpose of holding public office.
  9. Advertising Events for Local Business. Exceptions include overall DAY/Depot Town promotions such as the Starlight Shopping Spree.
  10. All other postings not relating to City Fundraisers, Public meetings, Public events.
